2007 Detert Family Cabernet Franc

Detert’s 2007 Cabernet Franc possesses all the elegance and suppleness one wants from this varietal. Cabernet Franc has the virtue of being intense without being heavy and unlike Cabernet Sauvignon, there is not a serious level of tannin to fight through. It is a quintessentially elegant red wine as well as the father of Cabernet Sauvignon. This beautiful, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2007 offers hints of spring flowers intermixed with black currants, cherries, spice box and new saddle leather. Medium-bodied with beautiful intensity, purity and symmetry as well as super balance, it should age well for 10-15+ years.
