Note di degustazione
The 2011 Bedrock Heritage Wine is a big wine, yet very much inward in style. Intense, deep, and powerful the 2011 isn't showing much today, instead, it is mostly a wine of structure, depth and sheer power. It will be interesting to see where this goes over the coming years. The aromatics and flavors just need more time in bottle to fully blossom. The Bedrock Heritage Wine is a true field blend encompassing 22 varieties, although Zinfandel plays the leading role. The inclusion of stems from the Carignan adds an upper register that is quite appealing.

Morgan Peterson continues to put out a bevy of superb, site-driven wines, many of them focused on the old-vine, heritage sites he and a small cadre of fellow producers have brought back from the brink of extinction. When I taste the Bedrock wines, I often get the impression they will age very well, despite their considerable near-term appeal. Tel. (707) 364-8763
