Note di degustazione
Ripeness is pushed to the edge in the 2021 Pinot Noir Estate. Sumptuous dark fruit, blackberry jam, chocolate, leather and sweet spice all saturate the palate. This bombastic, full-throttle Pinot is not exactly subtle, but it packs plenty of punch. I imagine it will appeal most to readers who enjoy juicy, opulent Pinots.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a deep but transparent red, with ripe aromas of red cherry, wild herbs, pine, and damp earth. The palate is ripe and saturated with fantastic lift and energy, noted with blood orange, snappy with ripe pomegranate, and offering a crunchy texture. it is a lovely wine to drink over next several years, but I like its youthful nature. Drink 2024-2034. Founded in 2001 and dedicated exclusively to Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast, Thomas Rivers Brown of Rivers Marie is both the owner and winemaker at Aston. The wines differ from those of Rivers Marie in that they take on significantly more structure, with a slightly more rustic texture and more depth due to what Thomas describes as the “rugged terrain,” situated in the coastal Annapolis area. The wines are expressive of a more mountainous feel and are certainly well worth exploring.
