One of the many highlights in this range, the 2017 Pinot Noir Occidental Vineyard is a real head turner. Rich, deep and explosive, the 2017 packs a serious punch. Sweet black cherry, plum, licorice, spice, new leather, smoke and incense infuse this unctuous yet classically built Pinot. The Calera clone planted here yields an especially rich, dense Pinot. The 2017 is wonderfully complete even in the early going. It will be even better in time. In this tasting, the Occidental Vineyard has a real sense of brooding power and gravitas. Don't miss it.
