Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2010-2017, Robert Parker, Feb 2010

The 2007 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast’s light ruby color is accompanied by aromas of strawberries and cherries, an attractive texture, tart acids, and an elegant, Chambolle-Musigny-like personality. Enjoy it over the next 5-7 years. The single vineyard Pinot Noirs are made from a wide range of California vineyards, primarily in the north, with Russian River and Sonoma Coast dominating, but there is also an Anderson Valley site (Ferrington), San Benito site (Vista Verde), and Yorkville Highlands (Weir). The Chardonnays are nearly as powerful as the Zinfandels in terms of alcohol strength, ranging from 14.5% to 14.8%. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Deep, bright red. Pure aromas of spicy red berries, flowers and minerals are deepened by a gentle smoky quality. Suave and silky, offering sweet strawberry and raspberry flavors and showing no obvious tannins. A juicy, precise wine that finishes with impressive clarity and lingering sweetness. There's a lot of Hirsch fruit in here, Bob Cabral told me.
