One of the more feminine, elegant and pretty Pinot Noirs in the lineup, the 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard exhibits a lot of spring flowers and sappy underbrush notes, as well as ample underlying darker berry fruit. Lively, fresh and taut on the palate, yet still with depth of fruit and texture, it’s beautiful now but should evolve gracefully.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is distinguished by an intensely floral, savory profile that is impossible to miss. Crushed flowers, tobacco, herbs, smoke and red stone fruits open up beautifully as the wine takes shape in the glass. Today, the 2013 is still a bit tight because of its recent bottling, but it is striking, that much is clear. The inclusion of 12% whole clusters is enough to be felt in the wine's aromatic upper register, yet there is also more than enough fruit to provide balance. All the elements are in the right place. The 2013 Koplen appears to have a bright future.
