Note di degustazione
Both these wines are made by the team at Rhys. The 2014 Etna Bianco Superiore is a smoking good white that has plenty of honeyed minerality, brioche, caramelized citrus, and even a hint of petrol. It’s medium-bodied, bright, and juicy on the palate, with a dry finish, and it’s going to be great on the dinner table.

The 2014 Etna Bianco Superiore is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of waxy lemon rind, rock salt and subtle blanched almond. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and very racy, tense and taut, with lovely energy and cut, concluding with a saline, mouthwatering finish. I'd expect it to put on weight with a year or two in bottle.
The estate was bought in 2014 and only planted in 2015, so for this vintage the grapes were bought from Salvo Foti’s contacts. At first deceptively like Riesling with waxy, apply notes and with aeration almost exotically spiced and a little smoky. Mouth-watering, racy, almost tart acidity which then is quickly filled out with subtle apple and lemon notes. Sings like Riesling on the palate. (WS)
