Note di degustazione
The 2009 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru is showing some bricking on the rim. Considering this is poured from magnum, it's fairly evolved on the nose. It gains complexity with refined red berry fruit, earthenware and a touch of ash. The palate is underpinned by a fine line of acidity, mainly red fruit with a dash of black pepper, segueing into an irony finish that boasts darker fruit than the entry. À point . Tasted and The Fine Wine Experience's La Paulée dinner at 1243 Club in Beaune.

The 2009 Volnay Clos de Chêne is a model of elegance. Weightless, pure and elegant, it succeeds in conveying notable flavor intensity with no sense of heaviness, something only Pinot Noir is capable of doing to this degree. The fresh, vibrant finish suggests the wine has many days of fine drinking ahead.
