Punteggio 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2014

Bright ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh red berries, potpourri and minerals, with a hint of smokiness in the background. On the palate, intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and a hint of white pepper. Very precise pinot with strong finishing lift and cut and mineral-driven persistence. Quite nervy, in a style that reminds me a lot of the Sonoma Coast.

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2014-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2014

Another lovely, accessible Pinot, the 2012 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) offers some of the immediacy of the Central Coast bottling, but with the textural silkiness and floral notes found in the Sonoma Coast bottling. The style is juicy, forward and best suited to near-term drinking. Raspberries, freshly cut flowers are layered into the inviting finish.
