Note di degustazione
Also from a purchased bottle, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is still deep purple-hued with a stunning Oakville nose of ripe blackcurrants, black olives, iron, tobacco, truffly earth, and chocolate. Rich and full-bodied, it has a rounded, layered mouthfeel, velvety tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's another brilliant wine from this estate, and readers should feel lucky to have bottles in the cellar. It's approachable today, in a youthful sense (it's past its primary phase), but it deserves another 2-4 years of bottle to hit its maturity window and will have 15-20 years of prime drinking. It's a beautiful, classic, incredibly compelling wine that readers should seek out. I wouldn't say old school, but it certainly brings to mind the old classics from this hallowed region.

Detert's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is flat out gorgeous. Lifted, medium in body and gracious, the 2016 offers terrific intensity while also remaining light on its feet for a wine of its size. Crème de cassis, lavender, mint and spice notes are all nicely lifted in this deceptively mid-weight Cabernet. Readers will fine an especially savory, earthy expression of Clone 4 Cabernet.
Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers pronounced notes of blackcurrant cordial, warm plums and black cherry compote with hints of tobacco, new leather, pencil lead and cloves. Medium to full-bodied with a taut, grainy texture, the palate delivers intense black fruit layers with great purity, finishing long with a spicy kick.
This is dusty and very rich with masses of fruit and velvety tannins. Full-bodied, rich and flavorful. A big and juicy wine. A little old-school, but shows tannin backbone. Drink in 2020.
