One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is going a little muted at this stage, though it nonetheless impresses with cassis, redcurrant jelly, cinnamon stick, rose hip tea and dusty soil with cigar box and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied, rich and powerful with firm, grainy tannins and balanced freshness, finishing long and savory/meaty. 600 cases were made.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is approaching full maturity. Dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, dried autumn leaves and wild flowers are nicely layered. This is an especially floral, savory expression of To Kalon. I find the 2013 a bit advanced for my palate. It may hold for some time but won't improve from here.
