Note di degustazione
The rim looks even older than the Carruades rim. Deep ruby with definite rust on the rim. Big and broad. Rather appealing liquorice note. Very charming with the real race and ballerina-like quality of Lafite itself, but very seductive indeed with velvety tannins. (JR)

Lots of evolution at the rim. Sweet, gamey, rusty nail character on the nose. Some rhubarb, Lacks lift. A bit bloody and heavy. (JR)
Made from a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon/20% Merlot, the 1995 is slightly sweeter, more supple and slender than the broader-shouldered 1996. The wine's bouquet offers aromas of ripe berry fruit intermixed with minerals, toasty oak, and spice. Medium-bodied, with fine extract, it is a finesse-styled Pauillac (in the best sense of the word). Anticipated maturity: 2002-2014.
Essence of blackberry and chocolate. Full-bodied and extremely velvety. Caressing and gorgeous to taste. Duhart started making excellent wines in this vintage.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Drink now. -James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2007
