Note di degustazione
The 2014 L'Evangile has a relatively backward nose, a bit anonymous at the moment. Light and slightly dusty red fruit mixes with forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant, fine tannins. This is a gentle Pomerol with a somewhat dry and savory finish. Drink soon. [N.B. It is worth reading Antonio Galloni's cautionary review from April 2014. I wonder if there is a great degree of bottle variation? Caveat emptor.] Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Deeply coloured. Fresh and cedary. Lively, pretty mature and leathery on the palate but has satisfying richness in the middle. I would normally expect this wine to be a keeper but I am not so sure about this vintage. (JH)
Rose petals aromatics, attractive juicy character, there is balance here, and a slow unrolling of liquorice, black chocolate, peach pit. I got a second bottle of this, and it really delivered the depth and texture that you want in L'Evangile, but worth noting there may be bottle variation. 80% new oak.
Tasted blind. Rich and exciting on the nose. Juicy and vibrant. Not heavy but with really good zest and length. Super-clean. (JR)
