1997 Tinto Reserva

Raspberry, mushroom and tarry oak on the nose, along with a faintly swampy quality. Supple and sweet, with good fruit but only modest clarity, freshness and spine. This seems fatter and richer than a bottle of the regular '97 release I tasted two years ago, but lacks real structure. Finishes slightly dry.
