Note di degustazione
The 2001 Clarke, the first vintage under consultant Michel Rolland, has a really lovely, well-defined and vivacious bouquet with plush kirsch, menthol and cedar notes that are much better contained than previous vintages. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, with a fine bead of acidity. It's just a little feral toward the finish, but otherwise, this 2001 has aged very well and is worth seeking out. Tasted at the château.

Exceptionally deep crimson. Ripe, suave nose. Black fruits (cherries?). Lots of winemaking trouble taken; more stuffing than of old. Dry finish. (JR)
Clarke's 2001 is a soft, fruity, pleasant offering with good ripeness, plenty of herb-tinged cherry and currant fruit, and a spicy, medium-bodied finish. Drink it over the next 5-8 years.
