Note di degustazione
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon opens to deep dark concentration and plump aromas of prune, black cherry, turmeric and cardamom. There’s plenty of Asian spice on the bouquet. The mouthfeel shows thick, opulent extraction and makes for a lasting impression. This wine needs a few more years to evolve. Drink 2016-2024. The Tasca d’Almerita estate at Tenuta Regaleali (north of Palermo), now managed by Count Lucio and his sons Alberto and Giuseppe, is probably the most important Sicilian wine venture both in terms of its vast history and its wide influence. Modern Sicilian wine (the so-called Sicilian Wine Renaissance) was born on these stately grounds. Tasca is also one of the most consistent producers I know in Sicily. You can count on excellence at the top levels and great value at the bottom. The only thing that does change with random frequency is the brand name. To avoid confusion, I have listed the brands “Tasca” and “Tasca d’Almerita” under the umbrella name “Tasca Conti d’Almerita.” Importer: Winebow, www.winebow.com
