Full red. Reduced, musky aroma of smoky red cherry. Dense and chewy, with a deep, sappy core of slightly medicinal cherry and spice flavors. Less fruity than the Juvenile but bigger and more powerful. Finishes with chewy tannins that avoid coming across as hard.

The 2005 Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyard’s dark ruby color is followed by aromas of earth, pepper, spice box, currants, and plums. This fleshy, medium-bodied Zin is ideal for drinking over the next 3-4 years. Previously recommended: As indicated last year, 2004 was a terrific vintage for Turley Zinfandels. If they can still be found, I would opt for purchasing them over their lighter 2005 counterparts.
