Note di degustazione
Bright medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, pepper, menthol and gunflint, plus a whiff of nut skin. Moderately concentrated but a bit unforthcoming, with a flavor of candied raspberry. Less pliant than most of these 2001s. Finishes juicy but a bit dry-edged and pinched, with an herbal element.

Aromatically, the medium-bodied 2001 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers offers spicy dark cherries. On the palate, this lush, wonderfully deep wine bursts with black cherries and blackberries. Regrettably, this otherwise outstanding effort’s finish is somewhat constricted by edgy tannin. Projected maturity: 2004-2009. Medium ruby, a bit less saturated than the Sentiers and Chaffots. Complex nose combines blackberry, black raspberry, currant, coffee, smoked meat and violet. Supple, sweet, concentrated and quite primary, with slightly reduced flavors of dark berries and game. A bit tough today, and dried by CO2 This needs an aeration.
