Note di degustazione
Good deep red. Brooding, medicinal nose hints at spices and earth. Then hugely rich and lush if backward in the mouth, with terrific purity to its flavors of pomegranate, dark raspberry and molasses. This seamless, voluminous wine really fills the olfactories. A real essence of red fruits, but dominated today by its firm-edged acidity and finishing energy. This will need time in bottle to express itself fully.

(vinified with 50% whole clusters) Bright ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of black raspberry, smoked meat and musky spices. Large-scaled, sweet and powerful but youthfully introverted. Actually showing at least as much definition today as the Clos de la Roche, along with a sensation of resonating energy in the middle palate that leavens the almost liqueur-like flavor of chocolate. A very dense wine whose impression of youthful austerity suggests that it's just a baby today.
45-year-old vines. Very deep crimson. Very headily scented and amazingly exhibitionistic. Very rich and concentrated fruit on the nose. Luscious and very animal and over the top. Slightly dry end, but headline grabbing. (JR)
