Exceptionally fruity and appealing already. Chock full of Gevrey substance and exuberant fruit with just a hint of cough drops menthol. Manages to be quite elegant at the same time. GV (JR)

Pure red cherry fruit and a soft, easy-going palate. Just a bit of oak adds moderate complexity – pretty formulaic, but recognisably burgundian therefore. (RH)
(from 62-year-old vines in a lower-lying vineyard planted on deeper clay and limestone soil): Lovely high-pitched perfume of raspberry, red cherry, iron, rose petal, red licorice and spices. Densely packed, rich and concentrated, displaying excellent precision and fruit intensity. Tightly wound but not at all dry, finishing with building but sweet tannins and solid mineral spine. The crop level here was a modest 32 hectoliters per hectare and it shows. A superb vintage for this bottling.
