Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2021-2028, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Apr 2021

Displaying a medium to deep garnet-purple color, the 2018 Saransot-Dupre offers up scents of cedar chest and graphite to start, giving way to a core of crushed blackcurrants and black raspberries with a touch of bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate delivers appealing purity with soft tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a red berry burst. Nicely done!

The 2018 Saransot-Dupré was tasted from two bottles via different sources. The first was corked. The second is better, offering brambly red berry fruit, glimpses of potpourri and lavender. Very subtle, but the more I nose it, the more I appreciate it. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, and quite taut and linear. There is a fine marine influence and salinity that defines the fresh finish. Maybe it just lacks a bit of aftertaste; otherwise, this is a fine Listrac that will benefit from 2–3 years in bottle.

Smoky oak, blackcurrants, tobacco, and earthy notes dominate the nose of the 2018 Château Saransot-Dupre. It's medium-bodied, with a plush, rounded texture and ripe tannins, all of which make for a delicious Listrac. I like it today, yet it should certainly keep for at least 7-8 years.

Cru bourgeois supérieur.  65% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy and fresh with a dash of what appears to be good-quality, toasty oak. Quite long and linear with a minerally edge. Clearly clay-limestone soils. A bit austere with a chewy finish but should age. (JL)
