The dense plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2008 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch Water Trough Vineyard exhibits sweet kirsch, strawberry and plum fruit as well as a deep, full-bodied mouthfeel. The most backward, concentrated and fullest in terms of intensity, length and aging potential, this impressively endowed 2008 is still young, but approachable. It should evolve for a decade or more. Vivid ruby. Expressive, high-pitched aromas of black raspberry, Indian spices, cola and dried flowers. Strong red and dark berry flavors show liqueur-like depth and are brightened by smoky minerals and a hint of fresh rose. Fresh and pure, with excellent finishing clarity, sappy persistence and a lingering note of sassafras.
