Note di degustazione
The 2021 Chardonnay Mays Canyon, from vines planted in 1983, is ethereal and detailed. It has intense, intoxicating aromas of white peach, marshmallow, clover honey, toasted bread and almonds. The palate has a silky texture and dynamic flavors that range from top notes of citrus to base tones of honey. It has a foil of firm, focused acidity and a hauntingly long finish. 177 cases were made.

The 2021 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is intensely aromatic, sculpted and wonderfully deep. All the classic Littorai and Mays Canyon notes are beautifully articulated. Apricot, white flowers, mint, chamomile and dried flowers are some of the many notes that build.
This was the first white bottling made by Littorai, in 1993. The fruit is sourced from Sue Bass's Vineyard on Mays Canyon Road. Fermented and aged in Damy oak barrels, 25% new. Delicate, sweet herb and honeysuckle nose. Tight and shy. Light toast. High, gentle acidity that fills the mouth and extends to the edge of the tongue. Plump yellow plum and Meyer lemon. Finishes long with sweet herb and minerality. (SCJ)
The 2021 Chardonnay Mays Canyon impresses with stunning purity and nuance. Hints of tropical fruit, white flowers, mint and candied lemon peel all open gradually. Light on its feet yet intensely flavorful, the 2021 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. Impressive.
