Note di degustazione
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (his least expensive cuvee) offers luscious black currant and sweet cherry fruit in its spicy nose and flavors, and a full-bodied opulence with an accessible open-knit style. A well made, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that won’t break the bank, this youthful 2002 should continue to offer outstanding drinking for another decade. Paul Hobbs has had an enviable career as a winemaker in California and a leading consultant in South America, particularly in Argentina, where he has fashioned a succession of brilliant Malbecs. Tel. Good full ruby-red. Subdued aromas of black plum, cassis, menthol and bitter chocolate. Dee p and plush but still a bit muscular and unforthcoming in the middle. This has much more sweetness and stuffing than the Cross Barn, and thus the tannins come across as finer.
