Pale to medium ruby, the 2011 Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard offers a note of caramel and toasted coconut to begin, giving way to mushroom tart, dried red and black cherries, raspberries, loamy earth and sweet spices accents. The medium-bodied, silky palate is still dense with fruit, firmly framed and fresh, finishing long.

Vivid ruby-red. Lively red berries and cherry on the intensely perfumed nose, with notes of pungent flowers, Asian spices and blood orange adding complexity. Bright, racy strawberry and raspberry flavors give way to a deeper bitter cherry quality in the mid-palate, with a tangy citrus pith quality adding lift. The penetrating, gently tannic finish is alluringly sweet and floral, leaving a hint of smoky minerality behind, eventually.
Another impressive wine, the 2011 Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard is a standout. From an own-rooted parcel planted in 1987, the Rosemary's is laced with beautifully focused aromatics, delineated fruit and fabulous overall balance. Cranberries, rose petals, crushed flowers and spices are all layered into the crystalline, pointed finish. A wine of rare distinction, the 2011 should also offer a broad window of prime drinking to age 10-12, perhaps longer.
