Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 True Vineyard Immigrant—a blend of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 34% Merlot—bursts from the glass with bold blackberry preserves, baked plums and blueberry compote notions with hints of Chinese five spice, cedar chest, candied violets and chocolate box plus a waft of licorice. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited, it packs in the black and blue fruit layers with a firm yet wonderfully plush texture and tons of spicy sparks on the very long finish. 377 cases were made.
