This could be better than 2016 with layers of tight-grained tannins and rich fruit. Full-bodied yet very energetic and gorgeous. We will see.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Nathan Coombs Estate is bright, powerful and quite savory, as wines from this site always are. Graphite, grilled herbs, lavender, crushed rocks and game add myriad shades of complexity to a rich, dense Cabernet that pulses with energy.
A barrel sample, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Nathan Coombs Estate is deep purple-black in color and offers up beautifully pure red and black currants notes with black cherries and violets plus a waft of dried herbs and lilacs. Medium to full-bodied with a beautiful grainy texture and wonderful vivacity, the palate delivers exciting floral sparks and many layers on the finish. 525 cases are expected to be bottled.
