Deeper colour than the 2016 and just a little pale on the palate. Not sure I would hang on to this for that long. (JR)

Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Royal St. Robert sings of pomegranate, black cherries, red plums and tilled soil with suggestions of mossy bark, fertile earth, underbrush and chocolate box plus a faint hint of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, in the mouth it has a wonderfully refreshing line and plush frame supporting the intense layers, finishing long and earthy.
Funky nose, with lots of stem influence giving a forest floor character to the blackberry fruit. Ferns, earth, truffle, violet – really showing off, but without ever losing its Pinot delicacy. A high-wire act. Supremely good. (RH)
