Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2016-2026, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Mar 2016

Possessing slightly more purity and freshness than the Cuvee du Quet, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape le Tintot (100% Mourvèdre) knocks it out of the park with its purity of fruit, texture and overall balance. Blackberries, forest floor, wood smoke and hints of olive all flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, rich, yet surprisingly polished 2006 that has tons of fruit and building tannin. Give it a decant if drinking anytime soon.

A unique take on the region, the 2006 Mas de Boislauzon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Tintot is 100% Mourvèdre and sees all new oak. While the elevage is definitely modern, this is starting to show more typicity with a wild herbs, garrigue, and flowers peaking through a solid wall of ripe, dark fruit. Big and full on the palate, the purity, balance and texture are all first rate. The tannins on the finish suggest this has a long life ahead of it. If you want more Southern Rhône character, give this another 5 years in the cellar.

Inky purple. Seductive, expressive bouquet of blackcurrant, kirsch, licorice and garrigue Deep, palate-saturating dark berry flavors are enlivened by smoky minerals and gain an exotic lavender pastille quality on the back end. Became fresher with air, finishing with excellent clarity and gentle tannic grip. This is one for the cellar.

(100% mourvedre, from vines averaging 70 years of age) Saturated purple. Explosively aromatic nose offers dark fruit, spice, floral and herb aromas, along with a bright mineral urgency. Smoky cherry and cured meat flavors are brightened by zesty minerality, which adds vivacity to the long, spicy finish. Impressively energetic and precise. This will be interesting to follow.
