The 2012 Pinot Noir Thieriot Vineyard Estate boasts stunning mid-palate richness, intensity and precision, qualities that are quite rare to see together, as is the case here. I imagine the 2012 will provide readers with a long drinking window of pure pleasure, as it is already quite expressive yet also clearly has the pedigree to develop even greater shades of nuance over time. Hints of game, tobacco and savory herbs add the final layers of complexity.
Good medium red. Briary red raspberry, strawberry, Asian spices and nutty oak on the nose and palate, lifted by a floral element. Dense, sappy and smooth, boasting terrific tangy intensity to its savory red fruit and spice flavors. At once thick and light on its feet thanks to lively, harmonious acidity. Finishes sweet and resoundingly long, with firm tannins fully supported by the wine's depth of fruit. Built to age.
As gorgeous as it is today, the 2012 Pinot Noir Thieriot Vineyard Estate is only showing a fraction of its potential. The flavors are vivid, crystalline and totally transparent. Dark red stone fruits, cherry pit, crushed rocks and slate captivate the senses, enhanced by sweet, perfumed aromatics that provide lift. Power, intensity and nuance all come together in the glass. What a hugely promising wine this is.
