Note di degustazione
Smoked bacon drenched in red cherries can be found in the aromatics of the 2003 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Chaignots. An enchantingly fruit-driven wine, it slathers the palate with dense layers of super-ripe plums, blueberries, and red cherries. Light to medium-bodied and satin-textured, this wine also reveals a long, suave, cherry-filled finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

Good ruby-red. Sappy aromas of red berry liqueur, tar, mint and spicy oak. Very ripe, rich flavors of black fruits, with an exotic suggestion of apricot. Distinctly roasted, vintage-typical wine. Finishes with building tannins.
Cask sample. Dark, bluish purple. Intense, fruity, sweet and very slightly jammy, but with lots of charm and punch. The first 2003 with even vaguely animal notes. Big, burly and autumnal. Quite severe, chewy finish for now. Great sweetness underneath. (JR)
