Even in this charming vintage, the 2019 Givry 1er Cru Clos Jus is built for the cellar, unwinding in the glass with notes of plums, raspberries, woodsmoke, spices, orange peel and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, layered and vibrant, it's concentrated and tightly wound, concluding with a long, penetrating finish.

The 2019 Givry Clos Jus 1er Cru is clean and precise on the nose: blackberry, bilberry and a faint marine scent that emerges with aeration. The palate is succulent on the entry, fleshy and more rounded than expected, maybe just missing a little detail on the finish but charming all the same. Probably early drinking compared to Lumpp’s other cuvées.
Cask sample. Mid purplish crimson. The most aromatically lifted of the three Lumpp 2019 Givry reds. Spicy fruit and some dancing energy. Though the differences between these three Givrys are not that marked. (JR)
