Note di degustazione
The 2021 Chablis 1er Cru Les Lys is one of the range's highlights this year, offering up aromas of almonds, white flowers, green apple, crisp stone fruit, wet stones and citrus, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and precise palate that's racy, fine-boned and charming.

A cooler and airier array is comprised by intensely floral-suffused notes of citrus, quinine and essence of algae. The ultra-sleek and overtly mineral-driven flavors possess cuts-like-a-knife delineation before terminating in a chiseled, linear and moderately austere finale. This bone-dry effort could also use better depth but overall, it's a lovely example of Les Lys.
The 2021 Chablis Les Lys 1er Cru comes from a single-hectare with an anomalous north/northwest exposure that means it is usually later-ripening. It has quite an austere bouquet with touches of nettle and wet pavement, a bit "mean" compared to the Vaillons. The palate is well balanced with oyster shell and saline notes, very classically-styled; although, I just need a little more energy on the finish. But I like how the reduction works to its advantage, and it may deserve a higher score down the line.
NNE facing by the forest. Pale colour with a green tint, pure white fruit on the nose yet with a certain tension which is often missing in 2021. This works really well this year, with a serene follow through with fresh pears to finish. Very well done.
