Game, smoke, tobacco, licorice, sage, incense and blood orange notes meld together in the 2012 Pinot Noir One Acre. A powerful, explosive wine, the 2012 impresses for its depth, intensity and sheer personality. There is a lot to look forward to here, but as is the case with so many of the Littorai 2012s, patience is required.

(13.4% alcohol): Good medium red. Aromas of raspberry, rose petal and spices are complemented by subtle oakiness. Juicy, bright and classically dry, with modest weight but very good intensity to the pure red fruit and smoky oak flavors. Finishes with a dusty edge of tannins and very good length. Has a bit more stuffing to support its spine than the Savoy bottling.
The 2012 Pinot Noir One Acre is a big step up from the 2011. Hard candy, cinnamon, flowers, mint and licorice all burst from the glass. Rich, powerful and explosive, the 2012 is all about mid-palate intensity and pliancy. Layers of fruit continue to build into the exuberant, deeply resonant finish.
