2014 Vosne Romanee Les Suchots Vieilles Vignes

(these vines are at "grand cru altitude," notes Laurent; destemmed and aging in 100% new oak):Dark ruby-red. Candied raspberry, truffle and spicy oak aromas currently dominate the nose. Very rich and very Vosne, showing an almost exotic creamy quality to the flavors of raspberry and spice flavors lifted by soft citrus fruits and firm minerality. This flamboyantly ripe, rather oaky wine will probably need to be drunk within the next 10 or 12 years.
