The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% new French oak for 20 months prior to being bottled. This is a beautiful wine, like so many 2013s, with an inky purple color, restrained, but intense and ripe notes of blackberry and cassis, along with licorice, graphite, and loamy, earthy undertones. The wine has fabulous concentration, beautiful purity, adequate acidity and a long, long finish. This is a terrific wine from a vineyard near the Melbury Vineyard of Bond Estates. Drink it over the next 25-35 years.

Fairchild's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro has turned out beautifully. Rich, ample and voluptuous, the 2013 delivers tons of intensity, with soft contours, silky tannins and superb balance. Black cherry, mocha, plum, smoke, licorice and wild flowers wrap around the voluptuous finish. This is one of the more opulent, open-knit 2013 Cabernets readers will come across. I am not sure how the 2013 will age, but I am pretty sure there won't be too many bottles still lying around when that becomes an issue. The 2013 is a real pleasure bomb.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro, from Larry Fairchild's estate vineyard, presents an intriguing mix of rich, voluptuous fruit layered with savory and mineral overtones. The firm tannins are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit, but there is more than enough underlying structure to ensure 15-20 years of fine drinking.
