The 2013 The Fimasaurus, a blend from the estate and the next-door neighbor, is a co-ferment of more or less 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It rolls out with serious scents of cigar box, forest floor, and crushed rocks leading to a core of redcurrant jelly, kirsch, and plum preserves plus nuances of pencil shavings and wild thyme. The medium to full-bodied palate has a rock solid backbone of super-firm grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy. (LPB)

The 2013 The Fimasaurus is packed with dark fruit, spice, incense and leather. Dark and racy, with a bit more sweetness and oak imprint, the 2013 has now entered its first plateau of maturity. (AG)
The 2013 Fimasaurus might be the finest red wine made with Bordeaux varietals that Kongsgaard has produced to date. Dense purple, with notes of spring flowers, roasted coffee, white chocolate, blackberry and cassis, the wine is full-bodied. Some mocha comes out as it sits in the glass, but this is a massive, monster wine to be forgotten for 4-5 years and drunk over the following 25-30. (RP) 96+
