Note di degustazione
(81% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon and 4% petit verdot; from Yountville fruit) Good deep red-ruby. Raspberry and bitter chocolate on the nose. Densely packed, juicy and intense, with dark fruit and cocoa powder flavors currently in a restrained stage. Builds nicely on the back end, finishing with solid tannic structure.

The dark ruby/purple-colored 2007 The Tempest, a blend of 81% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot, exhibits chocolaty espresso notes intermixed with mocha, cocoa, black cherry, and plum scents. A hint of spicy, smoky, high quality oak adds to the complexity and fleshy character of this offering. With terrific fruit, structure, and freshness, it should drink well for 10-15 years. An outstanding, small, high quality winery that did not make it into my Napa report in issue #186, Realm has turned out a beautiful portfolio of 2007 reds, all of which are made at Chateau Boswell in Napa Valley. The innovative blends (all dedicated to William Shakespeare) are of very high quality. Tel. (707) 967-0226; Fax (707) 967-0227
(81% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon and 4% petit verdot) Bright medium ruby. Aromatic nose combines red raspberry, currant, cocoa powder and a floral element. Dense, sweet and suave, with lovely aromatic lift in the middle palate. The cocoa powder note follows through in the mouth. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and good length and lift. I find this more harmonious today than the 2006.
