Note di degustazione
Gorgeous and incredibly classic in style, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin spent 20 months in 90% new French oak. Offering currants, graphite, lead pencil, and spring flowers, it's medium to full-bodied and ultra-pure, with the classic, regal style of this estate as well as good mid-palate density, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's one of the standouts in this challenging vintage and should have a solid 15 years or more of overall longevity. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin State Lane Vineyard was picked on September 30 and October 3, yet it shows no evidence of being adversely affected by the heat of early September. All Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 92% new French oak, it delivers intense floral notes allied to concentrated cassis fruit. It's medium to full-bodied (14.3% alcohol) and tightly wound, its silky texture wrapped around a core of inner strength that lingers energetically through the long finish.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is incredibly tightly wound, which I take as a very positive sign for its future development. Veins of insistent tannin wrap around a core of blue/black fruit, lavender, mocha and licorice. Readers will have to be patient here.
