Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2015-2033, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Oct 2024

In 2010, a rather cool year in Napa, Morlet's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur de Vallee turned out very well. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc, it boasts hints of leafiness, cigar box and black cherries on the nose. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, streamlined and concentrated, finishing long and mouthwatering yet also with dry, dusty tannins. Despite the remaining structure, I would opt for drinking this over the next decade or so.

Black truffle, smoked earth, hints of tertiary evolution yet remains a totally delicious wine, with a savoury edge of salted crackers, soy and saffran. Love this - to drink or hold. 85% new oak, native yeast fermentation, bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Bright medium ruby. Sexy spicy-oak high tones and a whiff of rose petal lift aromas of black- and redcurrant, dark plum, licorice, minerals, graphite and mocha. Floral, precise and penetrating but utterly seamless and suave from entry through to the perfumed, slowly rising back end. Wonderfully intense, delineated wine with outstanding inner-mouth floral lift and subtle intensity; as much about red fruits as black. Possessing great finesse and mineral verve, this notably savory wine shows a sexy juiciness and lovely restrained sweetness. Finishes with substantial noble tannins buffered by fruits, flowers and spices. As much about elegance as sheer power, this beauty is still youthful but has the impeccable balance to be enjoyed even now. Really saturates the entire mouth and vibrates: I love this sappy style. The floral lift from the Cabernet Franc really showcases the long growing season. From Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard.

(blended with 24% cabernet franc): Bright medium ruby. Lovely violet lift to the intense aromas of cassis, licorice and bitter chocolate, complicated by sexy mocha and earth tones; a real essence of Oakville. Wonderfully plush and sweet in the mouth, with captivating minty lift to the pliant dark raspberry and spice flavors. Finishes very long, with noble, rising tannins that coat the teeth. An outstanding and very suave wine in the making: I love the cabernet franc element here.
