Note di degustazione
Another great vintage for this wine, the 2014 Syrah Cuvee Keltie has a Guigal La Mouline-like floral character as well as beautifully sweet black raspberry and wild strawberry fruits intermixed with notes of incense, white pepper, and peppered herbs. Always 100% Syrah, not destemmed, and brought up all in neutral barrels, it's full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, has sweet tannins, and no hard edges, with the balance and sexy style of the vintage front and center. It benefits from a decant and will continue drinking brilliantly for another 10-15 years.

The 2014 Syrah Cuvée Keltie comes across as shockingly primary. The fruit is inky, deep and intense. The two years in oak (all neutral) has given the wine a deep, unctuous texture that is impossible to miss. Red cherry, jam, white chocolate, rose petals and sweet spices all flesh out in the glass. The 2014 is rich and flamboyant to the core. The nearly 100% whole clusters are barely perceptible. Although not as elegant as some of the other wines in the range, the Cuvée Keltie has an exotic allure that is impossible to resist.
The 2014 Syrah Cuvee Keltie has a deep garnet-purple color and was aged 21 months in oak, none of it new, and uses around 80% whole cluster. It opens with tar and asphalt notes over a core of cassis, baked blackberries and dark chocolate with hints of cloves, aniseed, roses and salami. The palate has a very firm structure of chewy tannins and balanced acidity, framing the muscular black fruits and earthy/savory flavors, finishing long. It needs another 2-4 years to really shine, but should generously reward cellaring for upwards of 20+ years. 301 cases were made.
