The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet colored, it skips out of the glass with notes of dried Provence herbs, redcurrant jelly, and kirsch, leading to a cassis and cedar chest core with a touch of wet pebbles. The full-bodied palate is very youthful, featuring firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the crunchy black fruits, finishing with an herbal lift.

Saturated bright full ruby to the rim. Ineffable scents of black raspberry, graphite minerality, flowers, licorice and spices. A sweet, pliant, mouthfilling midweight with expressive dark raspberry, spice and soil flavors framed and enlivened by harmonious acidity; as much red (volcanic?) as black in its fruit character. Wonderfully juicy, sappy, delineated wine; not at all weighty or fat. Utterly smooth tannins carry the fruit on the very long, rising aftertaste. The wine's impeccable balance makes it irresistible today in spite of its energy, spine and underlying power. This beauty may yet gain in mid-palate texture.
Bright crimson. Interesting hint of green apples on the nose! Also some floral notes – intriguing! Though it’s a little overpoweringly sweet on the palate. Tannins then really grip the palate. A youthful, ambitious wine. Marked by 2010? (JR)

Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Naoko and her late husband Gustav Dalla Valle, in Oakville. Initially they had wanted to create a luxury resort, but when they discovered the potential of the site, they changed tack and decided to make wine.
