2015 Bonnes Mares

Hailing from a small parcel in the "terres blanches" portion of this great grand cru, the 2015 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru wafts from the glass with a beautifully complex bouquet of peonies, cassis, raspberries and fragrant citrus zest. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tensile and chalky, with incredible intensity and understated depth, built around a bright line of tangy acidity even in this warm vintage. While Bonnes Mares can often be somewhat wild and brawny, this elegantly tensile rendition from Domaine d'Auvenay is emphatically Chambolle in personality.
