Quite dark crimson with a pale rim. Floral tertiary aromas already. Very direct. Lots of chunky fruit on the front palate. Still quite dry on the finish – a sturdy wine with lots built in there, including quite significant acidity. Very youthful but promising. (JR)

The light to medium ruby-colored 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers is delicious. This light to medium-bodied, satin-textured wine offers appealing red cherries and spices in an elegant, detailed format. It is sweet, fresh, and well-fashioned. Drink it over the next 5 years. Good full red. Musky aromas of game, coffee and espresso. Sweet and sappy but also wild, with notes of mocha, chocolate, game and underbrush. At once creamier and more powerful than the Lavaux Saint-Jacques.
