2022 Morey St Denis Clos des Ormes

Only part of the lieu-dit Clos des Ormes falls within the Morey-St-Denis Premier Cru appellation, the remainder being Morey-St-Denis village. This bottling has a significant proportion of premier-cru fruit in the blend, but is vinified together with grapes from the village appellation, so is bottled as a lieu-dit village wine. Cask sample. Mid cherry. A step up. Rich, sweet, concentrated red- and black-berry fruit on the nose; rounded and fuller expanse of flavour on the palate but remaining well defined and balanced. (MH)
