(made from purchased grapes from Malconsorts, a bit of non-estate Petits Monts, and Les Chaumes): Bright medium red. Deeper and riper on the nose than the Chambolle Premier Cru, with its redcurrant, menthol, mineral and sexy oak flavors lifted by high notes of flowers and white pepper. Supple and sweet in the middle, conveying a dominant flavor of candied red berries framed by harmonious acidity. (The Petits Monts and Chaumes grapes were vinified in small barrels but with very little new oak, noted Faure-Brac.) This lovely relaxed premier cru finishes with firm but suave tannins.
