The 2012 Chambolle Musigny les Baudes has a fragrant and complex bouquet of raspberry preserve, crushed strawberry, touches of wild mint and garrigues in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good depth of fruit. There is a lot of energy in this Chambolle with superb precision and tension on the finish. This is a Chambolle-Musigny taken from the top drawer.

Good medium red. Aromas of raspberry and crushed rock along with a light resiny quality. Sweet, lush and broad, but with lovely energy and mineral pungency to its red fruit and saline flavors. At once juicy and rich, finishing with salty minerality and nicely integrated acidity.
The Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes is a bit reduced and raw today. Still, there is plenty of depth and resonance in the glass. The flavors are dark, brooding and broad in texture, reflecting this parcel's location just below Bonnes-Mares. Floral and mint notes are layered into the powerful finish. This is another wine that needs time, but that investment is likely to prove very worthwhile.
