Note di degustazione
The 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cailloux develops with distinct notes of forest floor, ripe red fruits, white mushrooms and a dash of cured meat. Rich, concentrated and layered, the full-bodied 2010 is tailored around a firm tannic core. It has the slight edge over the 2009 tasted alongside.

A wine I wish I'd bought more of, the 2010 Châteauneuf Du Pape continues to blow me away every time I taste it. Lots of ripe red and black fruits, licorice, roasted herbs, and assorted meaty nuances all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and just a stunning Châteauneuf du Pape in the sweet spot of its drink window. It should cruise for another decade and have a gradual decline.
66% Grenache, 34% Syrah and Mourvèdre. Leathery and black-fruited with something almost bordelais about it. Subtle oak scent. Moderate length, smooth palate. Very savoury finish with a bitter herby twist. (RH)
Darker in color than both the '11 and '12, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape offers full-bodied richness and depth to go with loads of darker fruits, crushed rock-like minerality, roasted herbs and licorice. Beautifully concentrated, textured, with ripe tannin, it should be at its best from 2016-2025.
