Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2025-2050, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Morey Saint Denis Trilogie hails from old-vine "Pinot Fin" in the lieux-dits of Chenevery, Clos Solon and Porroux, giving a nice composite picture of Morey. Beautiful notes of plums, black cherry and spice introduce a full-bodied, richly structured wine with great depth and persistence, underpinned by wonderfully fresh acids. You really sense the creamy concentration from the old vines, which yielded a mere 26 hectoliters per hectare in this vintage. It would be difficult to find a better Morey villages than this superb wine from Laurent Lignier.

(just the second vintage for this bottling, from old vines in Les Chenevery, Clos Solon and Les Porroux): Good medium red. A touch of reduction to the aromas of wild small red berries and spices. Plush, fleshy and sweet; impressively full and dense for village wine, with dark berry and molten chocolate flavors enlivened by supporting minerality. Finishes with rich, substantial, late-arriving tannins that coat the teeth. This will need time to settle down in the bottle.

(60% from 50+-year-old millerandé vines in Les Chenevery, the rest from Clos Solon and Les Porroux; vinified with 20% whole clusters): Bright red-ruby. Subdued but very pure aromas of blackberry, pomegranate and licorice. Dense, savory and smooth on the palate, offering fine-grained flavors of dark berries, licorice and minerals. Finishes serious but not dry, with tongue-dusting tannins and noteworthy length and subtlety. Includes a good percentage of massalle vines and it shows in the wine's texture.

Name given in 2014. Three old parcels: Chenevery, Clos Solon, Porroux, which all touch premiers crus. Almost rudely ripe. Lots of good freshness. Bright fruit. Edgy. (JR)
