2009 Doyard Clos de l’Abbaye

From Chardonnay vines cultivated since 1956 on chalky soils in Vertus, the 2009 Clos de l'Abbaye Premier Cru offers an iodine nose with chalk, lime and biscuit aromas. Creamy, salty and persistently mineral on the palate, this excellent Champagne finishes with a stunning purity, elegance and long as well as complex aftertaste. A real character. The wine I tasted was disgorged in September 2013.
